Anthem Advisory advised TLG Credit Opportunities Fund on the structuring and execution of its recent investment in Atlas Mara, the financial services holding company listed on the London Stock Exchange. The $10 million 2-year structured credit deal was Anthem’s fifth corporate finance transaction in Africa in 2018 and demonstrates its further commitment to the region.

Led by Bob Diamond as the Chairman, Atlas Mara holds controlling or significant stakes in banking operations in seven sub-Saharan African countries, including Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Mozambique, Rwanda and Nigeria. TLG noted that “with Union Bank of Nigeria being Atlas Mara’s largest asset, we believe that the group is in a strong position to benefit from rising credit growth and consumer activity in the country.”

We are delighted to have worked on Atlas Mara’s structured loan facility, as we continue to develop and expand our corporate finance practice in Sub-Saharan Africa.
